We highly recommend keeping your Ultra 2 peripherals separate from your Non-Ultra 2 peripherals. Connecting a Non-Ultra 2 peripheral to the Ultra 2 connector forces the Ultra 2 SCSI segment and any attached peripheral to drop down to Ultra SCSI performance levels (40 Mbytes/sec vs. 80 Mbytes/sec) external * Ultra 2 SCSI devices are shipped with termination disabled and cannot be changed, unlike Ultra-Wide devices that can be changed with jumper settings- The only way to terminate a Ultra 2 SCSI
device or chain is through a cable.
